we created...

A little spot to brighten the neighborhood!

Zaruma Gold Coffee is an independent, family run coffee shop brewing high altitude coffee from Ecuador.

Our customers can expect a wide variety of coffee-based beverages, in house brewed real-chai (Vlad's secret recipe), herbal teas, smoothies and fresh squeezed orange juice.  We offer a vast selection of sweet and savory items to pair with your favorite drink. From empanadas to croissants, breakfast sandwiches to blinis and everyone's favorites like Tiramisu and Tres leches.

Great coffee and food, plenty of seating, free Wi-Fi and a welcoming atmosphere made us a favorite spot in the neighborhood, a perfect coffee house to hang out with friends or set up a laptop and work.

One country
Four regions

taste.

Covering just under 110,000 square miles, Ecuador is home to four major geographical regions: the Pacific Coastal lands, the Andes, the Amazon, and the Galapágos Islands.   Four regions with different altitudes, ecosystems and microclimates that combined with rich volcanic soils provide the ideal growing conditions for any variety of coffee, including Bourton, Typica, Caturra, Sidra and Geisha.

From Loja to Pichincha, and from Morona Santiago to San Cristobal Island, we have sourced only high-quality micro-lots to offer to the world the diverse notes of each Ecuadorian region.

Costa: chocolate brown sugar and citrus.

Sierra: honey, peach and berries.

Amazonia: Spice, hazelnut and caramel.

Galapagos: chocolate, nuts and stone fruits.

Support small business.

care.

The beans we use at Zaruma Gold Coffee are grown and roasted in Ecuador. With love and care we select and process our beans in order to meet the top-quality standards our consumer's demand.

We are part of a growing trend of small, family run coffee farms and coffee shops with a focus on quality over quantity. When you purchase our products, you are supporting a small family business, Ecuadorian farmers and your local community.

Really tasty coffee for less than $2. Fast WiFi and cozy outdoor patio. I recommend the cheese filled Russian crepe (blinchiki)

Best coffee in the area, the ambiance is great, and the food is always delicious. Service is fantastic and they have a ton of options. I would give them six stars if I could

I love Zaruma! The owner is an excellent man and they have cheaper prices compared to other local coffee shops. I wish it were in a more central location to me, but I walk the extra 5-10 minutes to work here over other shops around Somerville.
